Our Shared Responsibility

The safety of every resident depends on the collective responsibility of all apartment owners, occupants, tenants, domestic staff, and visitors. Fire accidents are often preventable through awareness, responsible behaviour, and timely reporting.

The AOA manages the common areas and works towards maintaining fire safety infrastructure. Residents are requested to cooperate by following the safety practices mentioned below in the interest of the entire community.

Fire Safety Guidelines

1. Never block fire exits, staircases, corridors, or emergency access routes with shoe racks, bicycles, furniture, plants, or other personal belongings.

2. Do not store LPG cylinders, petrol, diesel, paint thinners, fireworks, or other flammable materials in common areas or basements.

3. Ensure that electrical appliances inside your apartment are switched off when not in use. Avoid overloading extension boards and power sockets.

4. Any damaged electrical wiring, sparking switches, or burning smell should be attended to immediately by a qualified electrician.

5. Do not tamper with or misuse fire extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, smoke detectors, or other fire safety equipment installed in the society.

6. Children should not be allowed to play with matches, lighters, candles, or electrical equipment without supervision.

7. During an emergency:

   • Remain calm.

   • Use staircases only.

   • Use the nearest safe staircase to evacuate.

   • Assist elderly persons, children, and persons with disabilities wherever possible.

8. Immediately inform the security office if you notice:

   • Smoke or fire.

   • Gas leakage.

   • Electrical sparking.

   • Any malfunction in fire safety equipment.

9. Residents are encouraged to participate in fire mock drills and emergency awareness programmes organised by the AOA.

10. Any modification inside an apartment that may affect structural stability, emergency access, or fire safety should be carried out only after obtaining all necessary approvals, wherever applicable.

Important Emergency Reminder

In case of fire:

• Raise the alarm immediately.

• Call the Fire & Emergency Services (Dial 101 or 112).

• Inform the Society Security Office.

• Evacuate using the nearest staircase.

• Do not re-enter the building until it is declared safe by the emergency authorities.
